Everything you need to install and run Lab Management System across your clinic.
If your clinic has more than one computer that needs to use Lab Management System, they need to share one database so everyone sees the same patients and results. To do this, you install the software in two different "modes":
On the Server computer, do one of the following:
Windows key, type cmd, press Enter, then
type hostname and press Enter.Type that exact name into the Client Setup's "Server Computer Name" field (capitalization doesn't matter).
"Same local network" just means all your computers are connected to the same WiFi router or the same network cable/switch — the same way your printer or phone connects to WiFi at the clinic.
Most clinics already have a WiFi router (for printing, mobile phones, etc.). If your Server and Client computers are already connected to that same WiFi, you don't need to do anything extra — just go ahead with Client Setup.
On the Client computer, open Command Prompt (press Windows key,
type cmd, press Enter) and type:
ping ServerComputerName
(replace ServerComputerName with the name you found in the
previous step). If you see replies coming back, the two computers can see each
other and Client Setup will work. If it says "could not find host" or times
out, the two computers aren't on the same network yet — see the next step.
Buy a basic WiFi router (any inexpensive one works) and connect all the computers to it — either by WiFi or with an ethernet cable. No special configuration is needed inside the router itself; simply having all the computers join the same network is enough for Lab Management System to work.
This happens because the installer isn't yet digitally signed. Click "More info" on the warning screen, then "Run anyway". If the button doesn't appear, Smart App Control may need to be turned off temporarily in Windows Security settings.
Double-check: (1) both computers are on the same network, (2) the Server computer is turned on and the app has been opened there at least once, (3) the computer name you entered during Client Setup exactly matches the Server's actual computer name, (4) Windows Firewall on the Server computer isn't blocking the connection — ask whoever manages your network to confirm.

This is normal — the very first check contacts our server to confirm your license. After that, the app caches your status locally and starts instantly, even offline, for several days at a time.
